Climate racism, climate injustice, climate terrorism & climate genocide

McGill University PhD student Jason Samson has used climate and census data to draw a map of where climate change will likely have the greatest effects on the most number of people (see “Map reveals climate change injustice”, Discovery News: http://news.discovery.com/earth/mapping-human-vulnerability-to-climate-change.html ). It is notable that with a few exceptions the countries making the least contribution to global warming (Latin America, Africa, Asia) are most badly affected while North American and European countries making the biggest contribution to global warming are least affected – climate racism, climate injustice, climate terrorism and climate genocide from high per capita polluters like Australia and the US, climate criminal countries that are also resolute in not taking action to tackle climate change.

Relative national culpability for man-made climate change is revealed by “annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution” in units of “tonnes CO2-equivalent per person per year” (2005-2008 data): 0.9 (Bangladesh), 0.9 (Pakistan), 2.2 (India), less than 3 (many African and Island countries), 3.2 (the Developing World), 5.5 (China), 6.7 (the World), 11 (Europe), 16 (the Developed World), 27 (the US) and 30 (Australia; or 54 if Australia’s huge Exported CO2 pollution is included) (see “Climate Genocide”: https://sites.google.com/site/climategenocide/ and “List of countries by greenhouse gas emissions per capita”: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_greenhouse_gas_emissions_per_capita ).

Of course climate racism, climate injustice and climate terrorism come at a terrible human price that is ignored in look-the-other-way, climate criminal Australia. Thus 18 million people die avoidably from deprivation each year in the Developing World (minus China), this being increasingly impacted by man-made climate change. Both Dr James Lovelock FRS (Gaia hypothesis) and Professor Kevin Anderson ( Director, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, University of Manchester, UK) have recently estimated that only circa 0.5 billion people will survive this century due to unaddressed, man-made global warming. Noting that the world population is expected to reach 9.5 billion by 2050, these estimates translate to a climate genocide involving deaths of 10 billion people this century, this including 6 billion under-5 year old infants, 3 billion Muslims in a terminal Muslim Holocaust, 2 billion Indians, 1.3 billion non-Arab Africans, 0.5 billion Bengalis, 0.3 billion Pakistanis and 0.3 billion Bangladeshis (see “Climate Genocide”: https://sites.google.com/site/climategenocide/ ).

The Australian Climate Commission has just released a science-informed report entitled “The Critical Decade” which says that for a 75% chance of avoiding a catastrophic 2 degree Centigrade temperature rise the World must emit no more than 1 trillion tonnnes of CO2 (125 tonnes CO2 per person) from now until zero global emissions in about 2050. Top per capita GHG polluter Australia has only 1.9 years to use up its share and the US only 5.4 years and neither country is prepared to take action to tackle man-made climate change (for detailed analysis see “Climate injustice. Stop Australian & US GHG pollution”, MWC News: http://mwcnews.net/focus/analysis/11215-climate-injustice.html ). However when one considers that the US and Australia have been highly polluting for over 2 centuries since the start of the industrial revolution it is apparent that these climate criminal countries have already well and truly used up their ‘fair shares” right to pollute the atmosphere (for an analysis of historical GHG pollution see Figure 4, Appendix to James Hansen’s letter to Kevin Rudd, PM of Australia: http://www.columbia.edu/~jeh1/mailings/2008/20080401_DearPrimeMinisterRudd.pdf )

The Australia Climate Commission's report “The Critical Decade” makes it clear that the World is running out of time to deal with man-made climate change (see Climate Commission, "The Critical Decade", 2011: http://climatecommission.gov.au/topics/the-critical-decade/ ) . Indeed , as outlined above, world leading annual per capita GHG polluters Australia and the US have effectively used up their notional share in the last 1 trillion tonnes of CO2 that can be added to the atmosphere without causing a 2 degree Centigrade temperature rise.

People wonder what will happen when we realize that it is too late to act to stop massive harm from man-made climate change. A partial answer can be gauged from reactions in Australia and the US, countries that have already effectively run out of time but which are still resolutely committed to world leading annual per capita GHG pollution.

The climate criminal, climate genocidal, dog-in-the-manger Australian and US position - were it ever to be properly publicly exposed in the lying Mainstream media - could only be "justified" in terms of what is euphemistically called "exceptionalism" i.e. that the international laws and mores governing international affairs somehow do not apply to Australia or the US. In plain language, the Australian and US position involves climate criminality, climate racism, climate injustice, climate terrorism and ultimately a climate holocaust and climate genocide that will kill 10 billion people this century due to unaddressed , man-made climate change.

This site is dedicated to exposing climate racism, climate injustice, climate terrorism and the worsening climate genocide.
